Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Technologist and MLS BA to join our growing Clinical Lab team located in Richland, Washington!

Shift Details: 0.875 FTE, Night Shift.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited educational institution or equivalent education credits that meet Medical Technology certification

  • Minimum experience is received during the internship as part of the certification

  • Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) registered with NCA, ASCLS, AAB, NAACLS, ASCP or HHS or certification eligible required. Require to obtain MT certification within 90 days of hire into this position.

  • Must meet CLIA Regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional experience in a medical laboratory

  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

As a Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) you perform a variety of medical laboratory tests and procedures to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases, follows established standards and practices and performs related duties as assigned. Ages of Patients: Neonatal to geriatrics.

  • Embrace Planetree Philosophy to provide a safe, comfortable, therapeutic patient centered environment.

  • Analyze patient specimens by performing routine and special diagnostic medical laboratory tests and verifies results following department protocols.

  • Perform and report quality control on all instrumentation before reporting test results following established quality control policies and procedures.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of instruments and equipment and documents appropriately.

  • Verify all normal and abnormal results, correlate abnormal test results with other patient data, seek pathologist or supervisor consultation if necessary, and notify appropriate medical staff of test results.

  • Identify patient blood specimens and performs manual test for blood banking procedures following department protocol

  • Monitor and stocks laboratory supplies; notifies supervisor when supplies are needed.

  • Follow established procedures in reporting for Critical Values Call List.

  • Assist in updating or writing laboratory test procedures.

  • Operate a variety of automated and non-automated medical diagnostic instrumentation and equipment.

  • Participate in Laboratory’s Quality Assurance Program.
