Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Physical Therapy Aide to join our growing Physical Therapy team located in Richland, Washington!

Shift Details: Full-Time, 1.0, 40 hour week, Day shift


Minimum Requirements:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution.

  • If CNA, current WA State CNA Licensure required.

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNA training.

  • Technical degree from an accredited educational institution -OR-

  • Associate's Degree -OR- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution.

  • One (1) year healthcare experience.

  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

As a Physical Therapy Aide you will provide support within the inpatient acute, outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation setting and is a positive role model with good communication.

  • Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standard of Excellence and Code of Conduct.

  • Assist with therapy treatments, transfers and ambulating training for patients under the direction of the patient's assigned therapist within state guidelines.

  • Document activities (as applicable).

  • Provide exercise instruction as designated by the therapist.

  • Observe the needs of the patient; makes appropriate communication to the therapist regarding patient's treatment or concerns.

  • Apply splints, braces, already fit to patient by therapist prior to walking patient.

  • Participate in the department's quality program.

  • Maintain/clean rooms/gym as outlined in policies and procedures and as set up by department routine schedule, including hydrotherapy area.

  • Assist in clerical or billing functions as requested.

  • Participate in independent pool/gym groups.

  • Assure routine cleaning of equipment is accomplished and documented in accordance with regulating agencies.

  • Assist with transporting patients to and from patient care areas.

  • Assist with maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.

  • Maintain equipment and routinely checks that equipment is being properly maintained.

  • Complete additional tasks related to KRMC operations as assigned.

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers.

  • Demonstrate respect and understanding of all departmental positions.

  • Promote teamwork, with an emphasis on timely and understandable communication of patient care information to the patient and between care providers across the continuum of care.

  • Collaborate with health care team and coordinates discharge planning.

  • Communicate accurately and effectively with patients, families, staff and physicians.

  • Promote effective working relationships in a team atmosphere.

  • Demonstrate skills that are required for specialty clinical practice and regulatory requirements annually.

  • Provide age appropriate care.

  • Adhere to policies as outlined in department related to infection control, fire and safety, hazardous chemicals and personnel policies.

  • Participate in unit and hospital wide performance improvement activities in order to improve patient care and comply with regulatory groups such as Leapfrog and Core Measures.

  • Pursue professional growth and development through active participation in educational opportunities.

  • Treat all patients, families, staff and physicians with dignity, compassion and respect at all times.
