Kadlec Clinic has an exciting opportunity for an Registered Nurse (RN) ASC Procedural to join our growing Endoscopy Center team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details: Full-Time, 1.0, 40 hour week, day shift
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Current WA State RN Licensure.
Current American Heart Association Provider BLS.
ACLS within 6 months from date of hire into the position.
One (1) year procedural/surgical setting experience.
BSN from an accredited nursing program.
Conscious Sedation Certification.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Registered Nurse ASC Procedural you will perform a variety of duties involved in providing patient care in a surgical setting. Has direct responsibility and accountability for the care of the patient undergoing GI and Pain procedures. Utilizes the nursing process to provide comprehensive nursing care during the patient visit. Coordinates total patient care in coordination with other health care team members. Functions as a patient advocate utilizing the Patient's Bill of Rights. Demonstrates professional growth and development by accepting responsibility and accountability's for one's nursing practice.
Demonstrate and sustain compliance with the Caregiver Expectations and Code of Conduct.
Use principles of aseptic technique and infection control in varying situations.
Assure all equipment is functioning before use, and follows manufacture’s guidelines.
Verify the operative procedure using the consent form, patient statement, and if needed surgeon verification prior to the procedure.
Continuously evaluates the patient’s needs, plan of care, and nursing actions, adjusting the plans as required to provide optimum patient outcomes.
Verify allergies to medication, food, chemicals.
Report deviations of diagnostics studies (lab or diagnostic studies) to the attending surgeon.
Start IVs and manage IVs during procedure.
Within scope of licensure and as per competency, administers medication as directed by Provider.
Provide patient care during pre, intra and post procedures.
Provide a safe environment.
Assess patients upon admission and discharge.
Assist with a variety of outpatient procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as applicable and assigned (i.e. colonoscopy, endoscopy, DEXA, ultrasound, etc).
Maintain appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and administration of medications.
Document all patient interactions in patient record accurately.
Consult and coordinates with health care providers to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient plan of care.
Communicate and document patient/family teaching.
Prepare procedure/surgical rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures.
Perform variety of routine clerical functions as necessary.
Perform within limitations of scope of WA State RN Licensure.
Perform pre and post procedure patient education.
Provide patient education by assessing educational needs, planning, implementing and evaluating teaching programs.
Provide telephone advice and triage to patients using a physician approved protocol.
Specific Job Functions:
Administer conscious sedation (moderate sedation) per competency under direction of Provider.
Access patients before, during and after administration of sedation and provide appropriate care.
Triage patients per specialty protocol (phone or face-to-face).
Assist and coordinates with other staff to ensure appropriate follow-up care for patients.
Communicate promptly and effectively with team members to insure safe and appropriate care.
Direct and supervise unlicensed personnel.
